This text analyzes the reception of contemporary chilean poetry in Italy during the last half century. After remembering the fundamental role of Neruda's poetry in this period, other primary authors are considered, focusing on the disparity between translations, in books and journals, as well as the disparities in critical essays dedicated to chilean poetry. Within this context growing attention to mapuche poetry is also identified
