Abstract

The ethnic group of the Pehuenche has undergone profound structural changes as a result of the process of reduction that was imposed on it at the beginning of the 20th century. In addition, this period has been influenced by other phenomena that have had repercussions on this society, among which are the innumerable interventions. However, from the point of view of the occupation of the territory, the Pehuenche have been able to conserve an essential element that only in recent years has been endangered: transhumance.
